Turmeric has an anti-inflammatory effect, has been proven to help with stomach problems and is even said to help Alzheimer's patients: Turmeric is considered the "spice of life" in Asian countries. Just a pinch of black pepper increases the chances of absorbing the active ingredient curcumin into our bodies by a factor of 20. The reason for this is the piperine contained in black pepper. Even in small quantities, the active ingredient ensures that turmeric can better unfold its healing effect in our body. We are convinced that we do not use any extracts, fillers or additives in order to achieve the best possible bioavailability.
How healthy is turmeric?
Numerous studies have already proven the healing properties of turmeric. Scientific studies have shown that the substance curcumin is just as effective against inflammation in the human body as common medicines, for example aspirin or ibuprofen.
Turmeric helps against stomach problems
Nutrition researchers were able to prove years ago that turmeric has an anti-inflammatory effect on our body and a particularly beneficial effect on digestion. The curcumin contained in turmeric stimulates the liver to produce more bile and stomach acid. These in turn make food fats easier to digest and thus prevent an unpleasant feeling of fullness.
Turmeric protects against Alzheimer's and cancer
A study by the Indian Academy of Neurology was able to prove that the active ingredient curcumin contained in turmeric can counteract the dementia effects of Alzheimer's disease. The regular intake of turmeric capsules significantly improved the symptoms of Alzheimer's patients within one year. Thus, the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and detoxifying properties of curcumin have been shown to promote memory performance and can slow down the destruction of neurons in the brain.
In addition, the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention was able to confirm that curcumin has simultaneous anti-cancer functions. During the studies, the healing ingredient of turmeric was able to destroy cancer cells within the liver in the long term.
Turmeric regulates cholesterol levels
Too much cholesterol in the blood can be the cause of many diseases of the cardiovascular system. A study by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, however, was able to prove that curcumin is suitable for lowering cholesterol levels. Test persons who took only 500 mg of the active ingredient over a period of seven days had significantly lower cholesterol levels than their control group.
To further increase the absorption of the contained curcumin, we recommend taking it with fat, e.g. milk with at least 3.5% fat content.
Those who combine the intake of turmeric with milk, flaxseed oil or other fats have a better chance of the golden tuber also releasing its healing effect. These fats help the active ingredient curcumin to enter our bloodstream better.
